Context

In 2018, as fake news surged in Brazil, reZOOM was created to address the problem through education: a media literacy and news curation platform for young people becoming connected citizens.

What we built

  • Diverse news curation, published through an editorial dashboard.
  • Gamification elements to engage young people in evaluating information.
  • Videos and GIFs as the primary content language.
  • A web platform and app with the same experience.

The challenge

Providing information was not enough; the platform needed to engage. Young people do not stay on an educational platform out of obligation. Combining varied news, game mechanics, and visual formats — video and GIFs — made reZOOM work as a learning tool without feeling like a lesson.

Results

reZOOM became a tool for combating fake news through playful, approachable digital education: technology addressing a concrete social challenge.
