Context

News happens where people are, before a newsroom arrives. Immediato was created to turn users into eyewitnesses: contributing text, images, and video to the day's news around the clock and getting paid for it, with advantages for professional journalists.

What we built

  • User publishing of text, images, and videos, including live video from a phone.
  • A curation system to validate content before publication.
  • Monetization: validated contributions generate revenue from worldwide views through CPM, with different rates for journalists.
  • A responsive news feed, updated in real time.
  • Contributor and journalist profiles with history and earnings.
  • A curation and administration dashboard.

The challenge

Validating content and maintaining journalistic quality at the volume produced by users, while preserving the speed at the heart of the proposition. Curation had to be robust and fast, monetization transparent, and the app simple enough for anyone to publish confidently.

Results

A collaborative journalism platform where users help build the news and are paid for authentic, validated content, enabling broader, more democratic participation in real-time information.
